Title Goes Here
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Yep, I travel a lot.

I’m on the road this week for what should be either the last or the second last big trip of the “summer”. We’re driving to Fort Simpson to work on a bunch of weather stations in the area. If you want to know about my work and the places we go in painful detail (with pictures!) look here: http://mettechnerd.com/

When we drive to the NWT we usually only make it to High Level the first day. When we walked in to the hotel today the girl at the desk greeted me by name and told me the internet code was still the same as it was last time I was here.

I’m not sure which is a bigger sign that I’m here too much. That the girl knows me or that I’m back before the password reset…

Either way, I love my job and the adventure it brings.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

New Car

I got a new car this weekend! It’s a brand new VW GTI. My husband and I both drove trucks before this and he finally convinced me that it’s silly for one family to have two trucks. Now we have a truck and a speeding ticket machine with 3 more doors and better fuel economy than my Ranger. Oh, and my 6’3” husband fits in the new car way better than he fit in the truck.

Speaking of my Ranger, his name is Regnar and he was the best truck in the whole world. I will miss him.

Last night I was out with a couple of friends I grew up with. As a group of fairly normal looking teen age girls went past one friend asked if we were that geeky when we were 12. I pointed at my Star Wars shirt. We’re still that geeky.

To Blog or Not to Blog

My life is really pretty great. I have a job that I’m good at and that I enjoy, I have a husband who loves me and I love him. My family is large, rambunctious and friendly. I’m typically pretty happy and friendly. What could I possibly have to blog about?

Here’s the thing, I specialize in awkward. I’m a female nerd for starters, when you add in my moderate to severe stammer the awkward increases exponentially.

If you’re moderately interested or morbidly curious I plan to post stuff about the fun and funny things that happen to me because of or despite my awkward super powers.
